I'm gonna guess that Curtis played his own guitar on that track. Am I right? Love the slight awkwardness of the downbeats after the hits...haha. Great stuff.
Correct! Curtis was an amazing musician; he played guitar, bass, piano, saxophone and drums in addition to be a great song writer, composer and producer... he did it all!
I love 'slight awkwardness' as you say, in music. The more surprising it is the better... like in a song like this where the musicians are clearly top notch... where does that stutter come from?
