I'm glad to see someone who actually likes Yoko and appreciates her and her work. I love Yoko and am a big fan of her and think she's beautiful. She has a great, soft voice that if showcased in many of her songs. Her art is very creative and idealistic, and makes you think, too. If you've seen some of the instruction pieces in her book Grapefruit you'll know what I mean. So cheers to us Yoko fans! Peace :)

I had searched for some on YouTube and had found quite a bit of great ones. Have you heard of her 6-disc collection Onobox? I would love to have that one! That's all I wanted to say. Hey there.... yes I have heard her earlier stuff. It's amazing how much great music she's recorded that is relatively unknown. As far as I know Onobox is just a compilation of previously recorded music though there is one disc (A Story) that was unreleased. Hey! I got her CD Feeling the Space the other day! I absolutely love it! So many great songs on that one! My favorite is Run, Run, Run and close behind that one is She Hits Back. Have you heard any of those, Pongo? Just curious. Peace and Love to you.

Sorry if I'm being annoying replying on here a lot, but I just gotta let you know that if you want some supreme Yoko songs, check out her album Approximately Infinite Universe. It is her best effort by far, and was released 1972. It's more conventional than her previous albums, but certainly a masterpiece. The songs are brilliantly composed, all written by the great Yoko of course. You may have heard of this album before, as it's one of her most popular, but if you haven't it's a great one to check out. Have a good day and peace and love to you.

Hehe... That's good, because I love anything Yoko Ono and it seems like there are hardly anybody out there who wants to talk about her, so I'm glad I found this blog! Fly is one of my favorites of Yoko's too, along with Feeling the Space and Approximately Infinite Universe. I also like Sometime in New York City (with John Lennon), and of course Double Fantasy was a great effort from the two. I don't understand how there are so many people out there who "hate" or don't like her. She's a beautiful woman, on the inside and out, who loved her husband and cares about the world and what's going on in it. I guess everyone hears one song of hers, one of her more avant-garde ones, and assume that's all she does, just the screaming. But if they heard Feeling the Space they'd change their minds. I especially love that one, as the album is filled with beautiful, touching songs like Growing Pain and Angry Young Woman. People are too quick to judge I believe. But everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so I respect their opinion, but I don't appreciate it if they slander and criticize Yoko with no good reason to why. I'm glad to have someone to talk to about her, it's nice to communicate with another fan! Right now I'm listening to Feeling the Space, I'm so in love with that album! It's great. Oh, and Pongo, I heard Between my Head and The Sky and loved it! I love every song on it! It was released in 2009, when Yoko was already in her late seventies! Amazing! How can a woman her age be so hip, so fresh and still make wonderful music? It marvels me to think about it. Some of my favorites: Higa Noburu, which has great piano-playing from Sean, Hashire, Hashire, and even though I have no idea what it means, I still love it, especially the jazzy trumpets, Healing, a very peaceful, optimistic song with magical background music, and, my overall favorite, Watching the Rain, which is funky and never fails to put me in a good mood. I never get tired of listening to that album. Yoko is so awesome. My role model for sure.
Hello Pongo, one more thing to ask you. I'm so sorry I keep posting all the time, but this is the last thing I'm going to ask you, promise. Do you have or have you read her book Grapefruit? I'm dying to get it, and I've looked for it in Books-a-Million where I live but couldn't find it. In fact I've looked in two Books-a-Millions but still had no luck with finding it. I'm going to go to a Barnes and Noble to see if it's in there, and if that doesn't work, I know my last resort is to just order it off of Amazon.com. It seems like such an interesting and neat little book! Peace & Love & Yoko Ono! :)
Hey... no I have never read Grapefruit. I've heard of it but don't really know anything about it. Just looked it up on wikipedia and I agree it looks very cool! Please let me know how it is when you find it (I'm sure you will one way or another!) By the way... I was listening to Starpeace the other day and was thinking you'd really enjoy it. Lotta really fun stuff on it with classic Yoko lyrics, simple, beautiful, profound. I'm traveling now (which is why I haven't been responding to your posts in a more timely manner) but when I get home in September I'd be happy to send you any albums of hers that you don't have.

Hi again! Yes, I have listened to Starpeace! It is an amazing album from legend Yoko! My favorite song on it is Sky People. I really like the drums on it. Besides Grapefruit there is also another artist's book Yoko wrote called The Other Rooms that is a very interesting book from the looks of it. It guides you through different scenarios from the eyes of a man named Anton who grew up without much of seeing his mother, and is now forced to remember her with the few memories he has of her. It seems complicated, but I'm sure it really isn't. It's (I'm assuming) very rare to get nowadays, and again, it's something I would really want to get one way or another. Fly Me is a huge fold-out kite with inspirational messages written on it for all to see when you fly it on a windy day ex. Imagine Peace, etc. Yes Yoko Ono is a huge book written by various artists about her art and her exhibits, very cool indeed. Lastly there is one entitled Instruction Paintings that is, of course, about the paintings Yoko made with instructions attached from the years 1961-1962 I believe. There is also instruction paintings included in Grapefruit, along with her popular instruction pieces. Okay, my book recommendations are done! Hope you have a good vacation, peace love and Ono! :)
